My name is Newton, and I have gone to Dr. Zemplenyi since 2007 for all my cosmetic needs. I also practice in the medical arena, and from my vast experience and interactions with other cosmetic surgeons, "Dr. Z." is really a shining star. The reason I say this is because he shows a genuine interest in patient care, which I believe, needs to be most important for the practitioner. Dr. Z. definitely puts patient care and safety at the top of his list. An example of this is in 2008, I wanted Dr. Z. to perform a cosmetic surgical procedure on me, but Dr. Z. didn't think I needed to do the surgery because "you look fine." He was genuine and honest and told me he didn't want me to waste my money because I looked fine. He could have just done the surgery and taken my money as would many plastic surgeons would do. I have had countless experiences with different cosmetic surgeons, and I recommend Dr. Z. out of all of them. I don't really understand why there are some awful reviews about this man, and I am very hesitant to believe any of them, because with my experience with him, I have only yielded positive results. If you are looking for a surgeon/physician who doesn't want to get to know you-- doesn't care who you are as a person-- only wants your money-- doesn't provide much education about procedures and diagnoses-- and spends very little time with you, DON'T go to Dr. Zemplenyi. But if you want a surgeon/physician who genuinely cares for you, doesn't just want your money but wants to see you satisfied-- provides sufficient and detailed information about procedures and diagnoses AND makes sure you understand-- and spends appropriate amounts of time with you to be sure that you are comfortable, GO to Dr. Zemplenyi. I have referred my family members and friends to him numerous times throughout the years, and I will continue to do so. To be honest, I have had MANY cosmetic procedures done, and I only trust Dr. Z. to do them because he is very skilled! ** and to be clear, I am not being paid or give anything to write this review. I am just a very satisfied patient!

Perhaps what impressed me the most was when he referred me to a colleague who he said had more experience with my issue than he. Lastly, he does not rush, listens to you.

I brought my 17 year old son to Dr. Z just recently for ENT related problems that my son has experienced for years. We had been seeing another ENT in another state (we just recently moved to Redmond). The previous doctor had a horrible bedside manner, and to make matters worse his office staff was downright rude. I am so happy I brought my son to Dr. Z. Not only was he very methodical in his approach to helping my son, he has the BEST bedside manner I have seen in so many years I cannot recall. His staff is so welcoming, and professional (and they really have a good vibe while working together). My son had his adenoids removed and another minor procedure to correct another doctor's botched work. My son is doing great, and really felt very comfortable with Dr. Z and his staff.
I could not be happier with the tonsillectomy and nasal turbinate reduction that Dr. Zemplenyi performed on me a little over a month ago. I'm a little concerned about leaving such a gushing review, but I've honestly never been so impressed with a medical procedure and professional. Not only does Dr. Zemplenyi treat you like a partner in the experience (answering questions, checking to make sure you understand, explaining risks and alternatives, listening and taking into account your concerns) but he was also very open about the evolution that his technique has taken and the reasons he makes certain decisions such as whether to use sutures or whether he packs the nose. To me that's the sign of a true professional: someone who continually evaluates his performance and improves. Clearly his professional development really paid off for me. When I consulted with him initially about the adult tonsillectomy he informed me that it's a nasty surgery and that I would most likely feel really awful while recovering. That sentiment was echoed in the dozens of posts I read online about the horrors of adult tonsillectomy recovery (including one woman who said she's had horrific labor experiences and would do that 5 or 6 times over before having to relive her tonsillectomy recovery). My experience could not have been more different. While other people are out of commission for 10 to 14 days afterwards, I was back at work 6 days after my surgery and only taking over-the-counter pain medication. Not just that, but the days I was out were -- dare I say -- comfortable. The turbinate reduction was also really easy to recover from and I'm breathing easily for the first time in my life. Lastly, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention his fantastic staff. Carrie and Catherine are always caring, friendly, fun, and professional. Even though it means having a scope up my nose at some point, I find myself looking forward to my post-op appointments because Dr. Z and his staff are such a blast to be with. :)
I have been treated by Dr. Zemplenyi several times over the past 5 years for a salivary stone. All of my experiences with Dr. Zemplenyi have been very pleasant and extremely informative. He is genuinely concerned and has given me excellent guidance about how to cope with my condition. He is amazingly friendly, a pleasure to visit, and always leaves me feeling more confident about my situation. He recommended that I go through surgery to cure my problem. Being very apprehensive about surgery, I went to few doctors to get second opinions. The amazing thing about visiting these other surgeons is that they all knew of Dr. Zemplenyi, noting him as commendable and an extremely skilled surgeon. Not only is Dr. Zemplenyi highly professional and a super nice person, but he is also highly looked upon and recommended by his colleagues. Even a holistic doctor in NYC, who is now an ex-surgeon, noted his skills and said that I would be in great hands if I decided to have Dr. Zemplenyi perform the surgery for me. I made the decision long ago that when I am ready to have surgery performed, it will be Dr. Zemplenyi who performs it (even if I have to travel from far away). I am shocked that other users of this site gave a poor review. But, with no details to back up their experiences, who could take them seriously? I'm guessing there was little to no experience to extrapolate on. I highly recommend Dr. Zemplenyi for his obviously renound skills, great personality, and depth of knowledge. Thanks!
I disagree with the bad reviews. Dr. Zemplenyi is a very nice man and a good doctor. When you are considering a procedure, he tells it like it is. He tells you about all the complications and helps you to have a realistic idea of what you can expect. He is very caring and he and his staff care for you nicely after your procedure. I have had excellent results.
Dr. Zemplenyi did a septoplasty to me in May 2009. Overall I am very satisfied both with the outcome of the surgery and with the way how I was treated in Dr. Zemplenyi's office.
